If you have ever gone into a new subdivision you would recognize this. This is the foundation of a home. If you know anything about home construction, you know the construction of the home starts with pouring the foundation.
There are a couple of different types of foundations. There is pier and beam, which is the wood foundation and then there is the slab like in this picture. The foundation is this pic is solid reinforced concrete. In either case, the foundation supports the house.
I grab this pic off the web to illustrate a point about the importance of having quality vendors. I would like for you to consider your vendors. Your vendors are important to the success of your business. Some may argue and say good staff. I would say, we are on the same page because your vendors are an extension of you.
Are you working with quality vendors to support your business? Like a house, the business starts with the foundation of your business, which are quality vendors. Yes, I am a corporate event planner and working with quality vendors is a must. Don’t think for a second that because you are not a corporate event planner that vendors are any less important.
Sure you can operate an operation with substandard vendors, however, how long can you expect to maintain your business, when there are others competing to get in to the business? How important is your house to you? How much is your thinking (perhaps arrogance) costing you?
